Well over 100 top health and wellness organizations are coming together this weekend (June 7-8, 2012) for the Soda Summit. The idea being to discuss and come up with ways to reduce the consumption of sugary drinks. You can see more about the movement at one site, FewerSugaryDrinks.org. It’s very well worth a look … though the question will arise about whether empowerment-based solutions will arise or if the group will simply come up with more ways to reduce, punish or tax soda. What is needed instead is Buyer Power! The Nickel-a-Meal Campaign is part of one of these strategies.
